copywriter
A writer who produces words for advertising, websites, packaging and other marketing material.
Definition
A copywriter writes persuasive and clear text: headlines, slogans, scripts, product descriptions, emails and web pages. The job combines creativity with an understanding of audience, brand voice and legal limits on claims. Copywriters often work with art directors on concepts. Clients should look for evidence of range and of rewriting for purpose, not only polished taglines. Note that copywriter is unrelated to copyright, though the two words are often mistaken for each other. Ask for samples written for a similar audience and channel, because strong brand slogans do not prove skill at emails or product pages.
In a sentence

Our copywriter adjusted the tone for each audience.
Common mix-up
Do not confuse copywriter with copyright.
