deliverable
A specific, agreed output an agency will hand over, such as a report, video, design file or campaign plan.
Definition
A deliverable is a tangible result named in a contract or scope of work. Examples include a brand identity package, ten social posts, a quarterly report or a landing page. Naming deliverables precisely, with format, quantity, due date and acceptance criteria, protects both sides. Vague promises such as support or strategy are hard to verify. Deliverables are different from outcomes, which are the business results hoped for and which depend on more than the agency alone. Add a short acceptance rule, such as how many days you have to review, so completion is a matter of record and not opinion.
In a sentence
The SOW listed each deliverable with a due date.
The final deliverable was accepted after one revision round.
Common mix-up
Deliverables are outputs; outcomes (sales, leads) are results that depend on many factors.
